Dear reader, let us be your faithful familiars and trusted henchmen as we introduce you to the season’s ‘fangtastic’ new décor, rare collectibles, and decorating trends. Something wickedly delightful this way comes, and you won’t want to miss a monstrous moment!
It starts with a tingling sensation at the base of your spine. At odd times, you feel the hairs rise at the nape of your neck. As dusk descends, the wind moans and sighs. When you walk home, you glance repeatedly over your shoulder, expecting to see a familiar form. You tell yourself that it’s just your imagination running away with you. –But you don’t believe that, not really. In the middle of the night, you wake with a start. What’s that scraping against your window? Suddenly you realise that the magic of Halloween has risen and taken hold yet again...
Trick Out Your Collection
Fellow witches, warlocks, and Halloween fiends, we know you hunger for the moment you can get your claws on new items for your collection. Let us begin by temping your appetite with a few rare items before they pass into the hereafter forever…
Immerse viewers in your displays with ominous accessories.
The only place to be on Halloween, Lemax’s Spooky Town is the haunted hamlet everyone’s dying to visit. And if you have the marvellous misfortune of finding yourself there, you should enjoy it before the denizens of the dark come to claim you. Tonight, we’ll hitch a ride on the coach with these Newly Deads. So long as we leave them in their shared coffin, they won't mind. Anybody who doesn’t have a body has nearly lost their head trying to get a ticket.to Catarina's Dia de Los Muertos Fashion Show. Wolfie has grabbed us some snacks to eat on the way, so we need to pick him up at the Creatures of the Night Pet Shop.
While we’re at the show, the kids can ride the Pumpkin Patch Train. We’ll surprise them later with gifts that will make them scream made at Hideous Harry’s Toy Factory by the Scary Toy Maker himself. When we’ve had enough ‘haunt couture’ fashion, we can ask Madame Inez to tell our fortunes at the Foreboding Abode. As dawn approaches, we’ll shamble back to our graves to rest in pieces until night falls again.
A Haunting Outer Transformation
Encourage the right sort to darken your doorstep when you transform your front yard and veranda with outdoor decorations. Inflatables have swelled in popularity in recent years, and it’s easy to see why. For starters, they set up faster than a Ghostbuster can capture a free-roaming apparition. Plus, their colourful, quirky themes light up the night with whimsy.
Transfigure any outdoor area into a haven of horrors with this ‘season of the witch’ theme using decorations that can weather the elements.
Hey, Pumpkin!
Start planning your Halloween decorating by picking the perfect pumpkin – or five! Arrange small or large groups of pumpkins on mantlepieces, hearths, sideboards, end tables, and more. Leave them to stand proudly on their own or incorporate them into vignettes with floristry and figurines. Pumpkins are some of the most versatile decorations around, so the possibilities are endless. Here’s how we’re decorating with our favourites:
'Levitated Style'
Halloween, but make it chic. If scary and creepy are not to your taste, you’re not alone. Seasonal yet elevated displays featuring pumpkins offer a more sophisticated approach to Halloween decorating. Begin with this burgundy and cream pumpkin. Covered in lush velvet with segments outlined in diamantes and sporting a glittery stem, this is the most stylish gourd we’ve ever come across. Assemble one or a few of them in the centre of your display space and lie burgundy banksia leaf sprays and red gold crab apple leaf sprays around the pumpkins. Finish with a scattering of cream hydrangea blossoms over the garnet sprays. Presto! You’ve made a display decadent enough for Dracula’s Parisian pad.
Silly Gourd!
Frightful? –More like ‘frightfully funny’! These oddball pumpkins make people snicker rather than shriek. If you’re hosting a herd of little monsters for a Halloween party, turn to these guys for decorating inspiration.
A fella needs to get dressed up and feeling dapper on the biggest night of the year! Wearing his best top hat covered in spider webs, our wacky pal shares his big smile with the world.
If this zany trio can teach us anything, it’s that we shouldn’t take Halloween too seriously. Hang these moody dudes from your Halloween tree or from sturdy lamps.
Pumpkin Pizzazz
Shiny things attract creatures of the night, so get glitzy. Glitter pumpkins give off an eerie chic vibe. Decorate discretely by stationing them singly surrounded by lush houseplants, on tables, or in corners. Build haunting tableaus by grouping a few together to serve as a backdrop for for your favourite figurines and table pieces.
Keep the darkness at bay with flickering candlelight (votives or cool LEDs) contained within pumpkin-shaped glass candle holders (10cm & 7.5cm).
The Addams Family
Kooky, and ‘altogether ooky’, the Addams Family dwell in a world of never-ending spookiness. On Halloween night itself, they all gather in the Family Crypt for a monster-sized party and rave till dawn.
Those who fancy the more whimsical side of Halloween embrace the eccentrically macabre Addams Family. Display the figurines in quirky vignettes with floristry, lights, and creepy creatures. These pop culture favourites will never look out of place, even after Halloween’s passing. Group your collection together and – snap, snap – spread offbeat humour all year long.
Disney
Mickey and Minnie love getting in on the haunt! Disney décor and accessories make great gifts, even for those who say they’re not that into Halloween.
What’s better than a jack-o’-lantern? –Why, a Mick-o’-lantern, of course! At first glance, this headband looks like an orange pair of mouse ears. But it is so much more! Constructed of vegan leather, the jack-o’-lantern versions of Mickey and Minnie glow in the dark. Tell the world you’re a Disney fan without saying a word when you wear this as part of a costume or to take the kids trick-or-treating.
Store special treats for your nearest and dearest in this pumpkin-shaped treat jar. Rest easy knowing that Mickey will make sure the lid stays on tight when you’re out replenishing your supplies.
Brew up instant Halloween spirit whenever you sip your favourite potions from this Mickey Mouse pumpkin mug with matching lid. –Psst! It’s also a great hiding spot for a secret stash of sweets.
Every houseplant wants to be a pumpkin for Halloween, and this 20cm ceramic planter could do the trick. To arrange a beguiling floristry display, place a foam block inside and pierce it with seasonal stems.
Halloween Hijinks for Less
Finances giving you a fright? –Not to worry. You won’t need to make surprise sacrifices to celebrate like a mistress of the dark. We can teach you how to ‘boo up’ your lair without selling your soul – or any body parts, for that matter.
Gaze into our crystal ball and be transformed by our tips for fearfully frugal celebrations.
Share the Spookiness
If you have survived this far without falling prey to madness, then you are truly worthy of the dark arts we have revealed. Now it’s your turn to put everything you have learned to use. Share the magic and decorate spookier this Halloween.
Sunrise threatens, so we had better hasten to our coffins, scurry into our caves, and burrow back into our graves…

]]>Halloween is a truly magical time of year. In Australia, the season conjures images of Jack o’Lanterns flickering in doorways, pumpkins in window sills and ghosts n ghouls ready to come out to play.
As Halloween celebrations become more popular each year, you’re going to want to keep on top of the latest trends in decorating.
If Halloween is your favourite holiday, chances are good that you already have an impressive collection of trinkets, home accessories, and yard ornaments. Now it's time to step it up, and get some new inflatables or air powered blowers that will keep bringing eerie screams and frights year after year.
Inflatables, you say? What are they, how do they work and where can you get them? Read on!
Hint: Air Powered. Inflatable yard decorations are very popular in Australia, particularly around Christmas and Halloween. Made from durable, waterproof nylon or other synthetics, these brightly coloured, themed decorations bring the ‘WOW’ factor to your home, and are perfect to display inside or outdoors.
In most cases, a tiny motor is located at the inflatable's bottom and is responsible for pumping air into the device. The display is inflated by a motor when it is connected to a power source. Although smaller inflatables may be secured with weighted bases in the case of high winds, bigger ones will need to be held in place using ropes and posts.
A great decorating option, inflatables require minimal effort to put up, but can totally transform your yard or home into a Halloween wonderland that everyone will be talking about. Inflatables come in a wide variety of styles, characters and colours, so there’s no shortage of themes you can create. Most come with LED lights to help them attract some serious attention at night, and ropes and stakes to secure them if they’re outdoor decorations.
Witches of Halloween has a spooktacular range of inflatables to create whatever fabooolous look you’re going for (see what we did there?).
Want to turn your yard into a graveyard setting? We’ve got you covered with this
Inflatable Ghost and Tombstone with Shaking Motion
Team it with this trick or treat monsters, witch legs in a cauldron or skeleton pumpkin and you’ll be the talk of the neighbourhood. With minimal effort required to create the perfect scene that would also look brilliant at night.
HOW TO DISPLAY INFLATABLES
Your display will need to be close to an electrical outlet as you need to plug in the inflatables. An extension cord will also work, but ensure the connections are weatherproof or away from all moisture sources if you are using them outdoors.
Creating your display:
Now it is time to inflate!
All inflatables come with a built-in motor for self-inflation, but before you plug it in:
Next, plug your inflatable in and turn on the power. Depending on the size, inflation will take a few minutes. If yours is a large outdoor size, once the display is fully inflated you’ll need to secure ropes to the ring grommets on the sides of the inflatable. Then hammer your stakes into the ground and secure the ropes to them.
Most manufacturers recommend unplugging inflatables after eight hours, which can help to prolong the life of the motor. Deflating is just as easy; simply unplug it and it will gradually expel all the air. Fold it up as best you can, and get it ready to store.
Inflatables are usually made from waterproof nylon and are pretty durable. Accidents can happen though, and if your item does rip or tear, you can get patch kits online. In most cases though, you can sew the tear with a fine needle and thread, or even use clear or duct tape to repair the tear.
If your inflatable is coloured, make sure you use clear tape, or repair it from the inside so it’s not visible. A quick wipe with a damp cloth and some mild soap will clean away any dirt or blemishes, but make sure it’s fully dry before you pack it away to prevent the growth of mould or mildew.
Once you’ve made the difficult decision to pack up your Halloween display (and no judgement here if it’s still up well into November ...), you need to make sure your inflatables are clean and dry. If you kept the boxes they came in, that’s a great way to store them. You can also store them in stackable tubs which tend to take up less space, which means more decorations!
If you’re using tubs, it’s a good idea to label them so you know what’s in each one for when you set it all up again next Halloween. And it’s essential to keep all the ropes and ties together with each inflatable. When you’re packing away, don’t be sad because Halloween is over – you can take some pride in the fact you’ve just mastered the art of using show-stopping inflatables.
Check out our inflatables and keep the spooky times rolling!
]]>Equal parts sophisticated, spooky, and silly, Katherine’s Collection conjures up wickedly wonderful table pieces, figurines, and homewares. 'Eek-ceptional' new concepts and rare vintage collectibles haunt this year's Halloween collection.
Disturbing Delights
You wouldn’t accept candy from strangers, would you? The Disturbing Delights Collection delivers ample helpings of ‘sweet & sinister’ with delectable combinations of classic Halloween candies, colours, and characters. Once October rolls around, these darling dolls dream of nothing but trick-or-treating. The Orange Lolly Lane Doll and Orange Poppy Puddin’ Boy love candy corn so much that they’ve decided to dress up as their favourite American treat. Covered in vibrant orange and yellow textured fabrics and wearing conical candy corn caps, both figurines stand 99cm tall and come with their own display platforms. Don’t let this pretty pair fool you. They will definitely return home with their special totes full of treats, even if they have to stage some tricks along the way.
Not to be outdone by a couple of kids, the Kandee Korn Witch Doll’s costume pilfers the colours of candy corn and positions them on a plush pumpkin-shaped dress. Adorned with intricate piping, spiral pendants, and jewelled sprinkles, this witch dares you to devise a more original outfit. She has coiffed her hair in a fashionable pumpkin stem, and her hat reminds us of a fungus we dare not let touch us.
Sugar Dandy Doll demands more sugar on everything. Just looking at his suit will give you cavities, from his red liquorice trousers to his bowtie and cummerbund encrusted in 100s & 1000s and his coat covered in sprinkles. Does he look like he cares what your dentist thinks?
Sweetie Pie Witch will forever hunt the children who escaped by baking her sister in an oven centuries ago. At first, her baleful glare and frightening frown seem to contrast with the candied costume. But look beyond the cupcake casing cuffs, pie-lattice skirt, and candied buttons. A flattened skeleton cookie shaped like a chubby child tops her rolling pin staff and sugar skulls decorate her hat. Once she has you in her sights, you’re as good as dessert!
Brunhilda’s Boutique
This Halloween season the stylish wear spiders. Brunhilda, the head jewellery designer of the Katherine’s Collection coven has hatched an assortment of astonishingly attractive arachnids to dress up the ‘everyghoul’. Simply clip them on and begin to weave a web of elegance. Only true queens of the night possess the attitude to pull off these looks.
–Arachnophobes, if you’re still reading, skip ahead now…
Restless Spirits
Some spectres refuse to rest. Fitful revenants, they cling to the world of the living. These rare vintage classic pieces evoke the hereafter in the here and now. Catch these spectral forms before the retire and forever rest in peace.
Join us as we tour the Restless Spirits Cemetery. We assure you of your safety, but you’ll need to sign your life away first, just in case. Pay no mind to the scales for now. At the end of the tour, you’ll have a chance to weigh your heart and soul to discover your ultimate destination. The ‘nearly departed’ treasure their tombstones for they give them a place to call home. The current craze insists on ‘haute decay’.
Step lively and duck inside this crypt. We trust you know better than to meddle with wildlife, should you wish to retain all your body parts. Unlike those in the world of the living, the vultures here eschew carrion in favour of nibbling on anything with a beating heart that can fight back. Try not to gawk at skeletons. They’re only going about their daily death, like you and me. Some, like this fine fellow, go running because exercise improves ‘death-being’. Others immerse themselves in careers of service. This Skeleton Crew staff a ‘dead and breakfast’ with a five-skull rating.
Certainly, some of these phantoms lived during a far more genteel and refined era than our own. The Floating Lady in Mourning once acted and sang on stages all across Europe, North America, and Australia. However, when the roles dried up, she fell to becoming a magician’s assistant. One night, a trick went horribly wrong. Now, she forever wears the bridal costume from that fateful night. Some people devote themselves to their work so much that they don’t know when to quit. The Halloween Shopkeeper bustles about in his cyclops monster apron, filling orders for all sorts of apparitions. He always keeps his pet rat in his left pocket and a bottle of soothing spirits in his right. Who knew that business would be booming like this in the afterlife?
Peculiar Pumpkins
The pumpkins in this patch grow a little oddly because witches dance here under the full moon. More than mere jack-o’-lanterns, these gorgeous gourds won’t be in season forever, so get them while they’re nice and ripe. This lad holds a huge bowl for all your favourite sweets. He promises he won’t eat them all!
These three witchy sisters all grew on the same vine, so how did they end up so different? Wisteria Wildgrass feels annoyed that she’s constantly breaking up arguments between her sisters ditzy Willowmena Wanderweed and grumpy Wych Hazel Wormwood. Each stone resin table piece shows off its ‘pumpkinality’ with special textures, colours, accessories, and expressions.
The Haunted Pumpkin brothers have dressed up as Dracula and Frankenstein for the big night. They hope to make a lasting impression on the ladies in the next row over. Now, if only they could find a way to roll over to them… This set of two stone resin pumpkins might not know what they’re getting themselves into by asking all three witchy pumpkin sisters out on a date!
Katherine’s Collection gives you the power to conjure up all kinds of Halloween magic. These figurines, table pieces, and accessories quickly become treasured heirlooms that you’ll want to leave to your nearest and dearest when you depart this earthly realm…

]]>Spooky, silly, sweet, stylish, sinister…our 2022 Halloween collection holds something for everyone, no matter what your brand of hocus pocus. Hop on a broomstick and fall under our spell as we reveal ‘fangtastic’ decorations and tips to help you conjure the Halloween of your dreams – or nightmares.
Spellbinding Favourites
Having dwelt on this earthly plane for centuries, we Witches of Halloween are not easily impressed. However, these fresh takes have us firmly in their thrall…
Three familiars are better than one. Your favourite witch confidantes join forces in the Purple Bat and Cat Scales by Katherine’s Collection. Ferociously captivating, a regal purple bat with faux fur and gold lace detail perches atop an iconic black cat wearing a choker and a malevolant expression. While the bat holds a set of ponderous scales in its outstretched wings, a quartet of rats puts their full weight against a supporting column to ensure the entire stack stands strong. This table piece has truly bestowed new life upon us.
All our victims – ahem, customers – sign binding contracts with us using this Halloween Pen and Inkwell, part of the ‘Dead and Breakfast’ series by Katherine’s Collection. The generous plume of this pen has us nostalgic for the first quill we ever held back in 1692.
Funko has resurrected the beloved cast from The Nightmare Before Christmas. Styled in all-new poses, this foursome can be purchased in a complete set or individually. Jack never looked more handsome, if you ask us. However, something very tenderly rendered in Sally Sewing tugs quite strongly at our ancient heartstrings.
Pumpkin Patch
Stroll down to the Pumpkin Patch to meet the most genial gourds of the season and experience a Halloween more whimsical than wicked.
Who can resist returning this jolly gentleman’s silly smile? The happiest pumpkin in the patch, this plush 29cm table piece wears a dapper web print top hat accessorised with a jaunty ribbon and purple tinsel. His eyes seem to follow you around the room, but that’s only because they’re so googly.
These Silly Pumpkins cannot agree on how best to spend Halloween night. With personalities forever at odds, you’d never believe all three sprouted from the same vine. Hang these 10.8cm stone resin decorations around your home or place them in your own pumpkin patch display.
Just imagine all the Halloween hijinks the elves and fairies get up to in the Pumpkin Patch! The 43cm Pumpkin Elf winks cheekily as he gives a gap-toothed grin. His fluffy beard flows down all the way to a very intricately ribboned belt. This trickster’s poseable limbs let you create full-body expressions to reveal more of his personality. Based on what we see here, we reckon this elf prefers to play tricks rather than receive treats!
Pumpkin Fairies love trading pranks with the elves! Both 25cm poseable figurines wear fanciful outfits laden with complementary pumpkin imagery, from their stemlike caps to their pumpkin-print waistcoats and all the way down to their boots. He wears pumpkin pantaloons and she a puffy pumpkin skirt with a gauzy overlay. Her harlequin tights match the band around the base of his cap. Each carries their very own sign to spread the Halloween spirit.
Eerie-sistable Decorating Tips
Decorators, Halloween for you means using floristry, ornaments and twinkling lights to invoke the subtler side of Halloween magic. If you haven't put up a Halloween tree before, make this year the first of many.
Fierce Floristry
Dear Reader, we nominate the midnight-black poinsettia as the unofficial floral emblem for Halloween 2022. They darkly glitter and carry the merest hint of the macabre. Nothing sets them off better than purple glitter sprays and black butterflies. Delve into our top tips for frightfully ‘faboolous’ Halloween floral displays:
Little Terrors
Is trick-or-treating the reason for the season in your home? Brew up a big night they’ll always remember with our list of essential trick-or-treat trappings. (And we have adult costumes so you can ‘boo up’, too.)
Inflatables
Transform your yard, veranda, patio, courtyard, and balcony into a wicked spectacle with inflatables. Made of water-resistant, durable polyester fabric, each inflatable comes with bright LED lights to bring them to life, as well as stakes and ropes to anchor them securely. They also work well indoors. Decorate for a monster of a Halloween party by placing inflatables in corners and other low traffic areas. Weigh them down with sandbags or books. Each strange and scary character has its own frightful personality.
Things That Go Bump in the Night
You’ll want to invite these fearsome creatures to your haunt if you’re howling for a good scare. Skip this section if you frighten easily…
Every Halloween, this awful appendage stirs from its resting place and advances on unsuspecting mortals. The Green Thing comes with three AA batteries. Once activated, it crawls in search of potential victims. If you stay very still, it will stop. This is your chance to escape. However, should you make any noise, it will reanimate and resume its search. –Flee so you don’t end up in its clutches!
Who-who-whoo’s there? These vicious owls will swoop down and carry your soul away. Hang either of them from the ceiling or a doorway to terrorise unwanted visitors.
What’s red and black and happens to be climbing up your bed post? –An overly aggressive arachnid! Your Halloween can’t be truly horrible without spiders.
Spooky Town
Collectors, this one’s for you. The haunted hamlet where the dead have sojourned to rest in pieces has grown with the times and may yet threaten the realm of the living. Check out Lemax’s latest Spooky Town pieces for 2022.
You’ve heard of ‘happy hour’? Well, here they call it ‘the witching hour’. Sinister sisters on broomsticks circle above as they rest of their coven labours below.
Check in at the Horrid Haunted Hotel and you’ll be pushing up daises by morning. Your poor unfortunate soul will forever roam the dark halls powerless to escape.
Every town has special landmarks that attract tourists time and again. In Spooky Town, visitors flock to Skull Quarry and the Pumpkin Treehouse, but nobody ever sees them leaving. ]]>This trio of Skeleton Shelf Sitters live their afterlife by one simple motto: ‘Hear no evil. See no evil. Speak no evil.’ —So far, it’s served them rather well. Painted to resemble vintage bone antiques, each skeleton has hinged knees so you can pose them with even more eccentric attitude.
This couple will shake, rattle, and roll their bones in the Big Easy from dusk ‘til dawn. Bedecked in their ‘bayou best’, Mark Roberts’ Mr & Mrs Fashion Skeleton figurines recall the Mardi Gras atmosphere of New Orleans. Each 79cm figurine wears a couture costume in a red, black, and gold colour scheme. She wears a gown with an empress collar, ruffled sleeves, and layers of tulle and lace. Atop a creole turban, her hat supports a millinery marvel of lace and silk flowers. He wears a morning coat in motley with gold lamé lapels and ribbons on his shoulders. A simple black bowtie perfectly counterbalances an overflowing lace shirt collar. His top hat espouses the ‘more is more’ concept with feathers, lace, a brooch, and gold netting. Laissez les bons temps rouler!
Take a walk in the haunted forest and it just might be your last. For centuries, this Haunted Halloween Tree with Skeletons (66cm) has lured unsuspecting wanderers to their doom. Don’t get too close; it’ll devour you and wrap itself in your bones!

The Halloween Skull frightens off all things that go bump in the night with light up eyes and scary sounds. Trust us, the screeching T-Rex Skull will banish the bogeyman forever. He may not have much brainpower, but he does have an overabundance of teeth.

Let your imagination lead the way when you create different characters each year just by dressing your hanging skeletons in outlandish outfits. The Life Size Hanging Skeleton (1.6m) can adapt to an afterlife both indoors and out. Let him hang around as-is or dress him up. Silly or sinister, he’ll be the hero piece of your display. Every hero needs a sidekick, so look no further than the Hanging Poseable Skeleton (95cm). What adventures will you brew up for these fossilised friends?
‘BOO!’ The Upside Down Hanging Skeleton loves making people jump out of their skin. —Did he scare you? And talk about creepy, this Life Size Climbing Skeleton thinks that you won't notice him if he doesn't move. Stay well away!
Rats, scorpions, and spiders are skeletons’ best friends. Keep your skeletons from getting lonely and give them petrified pet friends. Don’t worry, they won’t bite!
At Halloween, the humble skeleton is a versatile essential ingredient. No one will ever have a bone to pick with your decorating when you include a few skeletons in your displays.

]]>Do you like scary stories? – Sit back and get comfortable, because tonight I have a chilling tale for you. A truly terrifying account of a single decision and its consequences. Come closer, and enter the world of Katherine’s Halloween Collection…
One moon-drenched Halloween night, my paramour and I were out for a stroll. We chanced upon a set of majestic gates we had never seen before. Guarded by two solemn angels of death whose robes seemed to ripple in the breeze, they beckoned us ever closer. As we approached, the gates slowly opened.
—I know what you’re going to say. But in our defence, we were young and had a thirst for adventure.
We walked through the gates and found ourselves in a place choked with mist. At first, we could see nothing. Then, we heard a staccato clacking and a woman appeared to coalesce right before us.
She was rather thin. Indeed, what we had heard earlier was the sound of her bones rattling as she walked. The woman introduced herself as Catrina Calavera. She was wearing a chic gown with a flowered neckline and a flared trumpet hem, a silk shawl, and an enormous hat decorated with feathers and flowers.
The splendid Señora asked if she might join us as we all appeared to be heading in the same direction. She explained that she was heading back to her hotel, Dead and Breakfast. We were glad for the company.
‘You know, you should enquire about one of their beautiful rooms,’ Catrina enthused. ‘Spacious and immaculately clean, they are also tastefully decorated with underworld relics in honour of its glorious past. It was once an undertaker’s, you know.’
We stopped at a gloriously dilapidated mansion. We thought that we had misheard Catrina but standing in front of the signpost we discovered that Dead and Breakfast was indeed the establishment’s proper name.
We leant in closer to examine the lettering on the placard and the intricate arcane symbols on the signpost. Luckily, Catrina yanked us back just in time to avoid the snake that was poised to strike.
‘Be careful, cariños. That snake’s bite is worse than death,’ she chuckled. ‘Only the finest hoteliers display the official “Dead and Breakfast” logo, mis amores. Accept no imitations and always look for the undead vulture of authenticity.’ Catrina bid us adiós and hurried inside, complaining of the freezing cold leeching into her old bones.
‘Greetings, gentle ghouls,’ the Bellboy groaned. ‘Welcome to Dead and Breakfast.’ He picked up a tray laden with drinks. We both accepted something that bubbled softly and complimented him on his brocade jacket, especially the silver stitching in the lapels and garnet buttons. The bellboy mumbled a thanks and directed us to reception.
As the made our way across the lobby, the Dead and Breakfast Skeleton Crew were busily going about their work. The maid, waiter, and bellboy all smiled at us as they passed. – But then skeletons are forever smiling, aren't they?
Halfway across the lobby, we heard a faint clinking of chains which quickly built to a terrific clanging cacophony. We stopped dead in our tracks just in time to avoid a collision. This Dead and Breakfast House Guest must be running late for a special haunting. We marvelled at his ensemble: a very edgy blend of a chain-link noose, smoking jacket and cravat paired with pinstriped shorts, striped leggings, and urban utility boots. Bounding past, he screeched an apology.
‘Excuse me.’ The most glamourous woman called out to us. She was dripping with supernatural grace, clad in an ebony brocade gown with a sumptuous chiffon train trimmed with generous marabou. Her statuesque (182cm) beauty threatened to overwhelm us, but we regained our composure just in time.
‘I am the Countess,’ she purred, peering at us intently with her mesmerising amber eyes. ‘I adore meeting new arrivals. Would you care to sup with me tonight?’ She waved an immaculately manicured hand at the skeletal raven perched atop her cane. ‘My friend here makes for poor company at mealtimes, you see.’ Perhaps a little too effusively, we accepted her invitation to supper at 11 o’clock.
When we finally arrived at reception, we found it unattended save for a jewel-encrusted skeleton vulture poised for flight. They do have a thing for vultures here, to be sure. Just as we began to admire it, we heard a great howling emanate from an imposing antique mirror behind the desk. Along its frame, imps glared mischievously with glowing garnet eyes and snakes slithered.
A shrouded spectral form emerged from within the glass. ‘Welcome. We have been expecting you,’ it sighed. ‘You are booked to stay with us...' The spectre paused and stared deeply into our eyes. '... for all eternity!’
BOO!!!
—Oh, now don’t be frightened. It’s just a story after all.
Or is it? Look around..
Spin your own chilling tales and immerse yourself in imagination when you create holidays of a different colour with figurines, table pieces, and an extensive range of decorations from Katherine’s Collection.

]]>Figurines
This enchanting Young Witch from Katherine’s Collection will cast a spell on you. A witch doesn’t need to be wicked to stand in her power. Standing 61cm tall, she has a brand-new broomstick and is itching to soar across the sky with her sisters. Precocious and pretty, her sparkling amber eyes reflect the delight of newfound magical knowledge. Raven-haired plaits frame a heart-shaped, exquisitely hand-painted face with an adorable pixie nose and smirking mouth. Position her arms so she can wave her magic wand and cast arcane spells from her grimoire.
Clothed from head to toe in a bewitching Halloween-coloured patchwork confection of tulle, lace, and sequins, her outfit dazzles the eye. Make sure you appreciate the fashion forward contrasting striped sleeves and tights, too. No mere ‘hat’, her unique millinery features a glittery purple point and black faux fur trim. Quantities of rhinestones and lace mean her fetching winged boots are made for flying, and that’s just what she’ll do.
From Bethany Lowe Designs, this 36.8cm Witch on Toadstool has decided to brush up on her cackling skills. She wears her best tulle dress and sits comfortably on her favourite toadstool. Her ‘study buddy’ toady familiar want to help and has perched itself on the brim of her hat. Constructed of fibreglass and resin, this adorably studious witch will cackle with confidence at Halloween for years to come.
After a night of broomstick racing, this pair of Sitting Witches needs to take a break! Each one has posable legs and a knowing smile on her dial. Their festive frocks have glitter collars and sequined bodices along with flamboyantly flouncy matching hats. Break time’s over: time to fly!
The skies aren’t safe when these two wacky sisters are about. They love nothing more than scaring people, turning children into mice, and hooning around on their broomsticks. – Don’t worry, these pranksters will come back to remove their curses after Halloween. Can’t you take a joke?
Malevolent or misunderstood? Everyone knows the Wicked Witch of the West as the villain in Dorothy’s story. But in the Witch’s defence, Dorothy stole something that rightfully belonged to the Witch!
Designed by Jim Shore, these three vibrantly hand-painted stone resin figurines commemorate iconic moments from the Wizard of Oz. The petite 12cm figurine recoils in shock upon discovering her sister flattened by a house. She cannot believe that little Dorothy Gale had the audacity to steal her sister’s powerful ruby slippers after committing murder.
The 20cm Wicked Witch Figure leads her army of winged monkeys against Dorothy and crew. You can almost hear her shrieking orders as she hurtles across the sky.
Sadly, the Wicked Witch of the West’s story comes to a tragic and pitiful end. In the Wicked Witch Bookend, she confronts the little thief once and for all. Skirts billowing, eyes blazing, she storms in and…We all know what happens next.
Animated Pieces
Remember that eccentric friend of nan’s who lives on a hobby farm out in the bush? —Well here she is! Mark Roberts’ delightfully quirky animated 58cm Wacky Witch wears bejewelled horn-rim spectacles, a curious spider web cape, and a spectacularly whimsical hat inspired by the tail of a black cat. She stirs her jack o’lantern cauldron and smiles from ear to ear, ready to move and groove with the best of them. She’s even brought along her own music!
Watch yourself around this witch! Try her patience and she’ll teach you a lesson you’ll never forget. With the flip of a switch, this 90cm tall animated figurine will flip her wig. She screeches and cackles while waving her arms as her eyes blaze daggers. You’d better stay on her good side or she’ll throw her crystal ball at you…
Surprise, startle, and get the drop on your guests with these larger-than-life (119cm & 128cm) motion-activated light up witches. The magics of Halloween and electricity bring these showstopping pieces to life with light and sound whenever anyone gets close.
Hanging Pieces
This kid-friendly, adorable Fringe Witch wants to hang out at your place every Halloween. Brave enough to mix polka dots and stripes in her accessories, she wears her favourite fringe dress and wig while spreading Halloween happiness for all ages.
She won’t be winning any friends, but she will surely ‘influence’ people. This 91cm Hanging Witch has posable arms and a demonic light up face to frighten off any potential troublesome mischief-makers.
Oopsie! That’s gonna leave a mark! Ward off errantly flying crones with this 69cm Wrong Way Witch decoration. Perfect for doors, windows, and walls, the laughs are guaranteed.
Costumes
Conjure up your inner witch or warlock when you dress the part. Start with the essentials: a hat and a broomstick. Adults can’t go wrong with a classic Black Velvet Hat. Little witches will look positively enchanting with hats trimmed with lace or a veil of spider’s webs.
When it comes to choosing a broom, head away from the hardware store and give our boutique models a test drive. The 70cm BO Witch Broom gives off an awesome orange glow that will charm your littlest flyers. Those off their ‘L’ plates should give the traditional 92cm Halloween Witch Broom a sweep. Want a more contemporary colour option? – Try the orange, black, or purple 97cm Witch Broom and stand out from the crowd.
We also have you covered with costumes. (Pun intended.) Enterprising enchantresses will enthral onlookers with both the Black Magic or the Deluxe Witch costumes while the Little Witches Tutu & Headband Set or the Glitter Dress Halloween Costume will suit aspiring spellcasters down to the ground.
Welcome new witches into your coven this Halloween, brew up some hocus pocus, and watch the magic unfold. With a little help from your friendly ‘familiars’ at Witches of Halloween, you’ll hex with the best of them.

]]>If you’re anything like us, you cannot wait to start decorating for Halloween. You sense the excitement building every September. (Or maybe even July or August!) New products tempt you. You itch to experiment with some of those decorating trends you see emerging on social media. Still, you hold back and patiently wait for October 1.
But why wait? What if you could summon the mischievous magic of Halloween and keep the cauldron brewing all year long? —Well, you can! The secret lies in how you display your favourite collectible pieces.
Your Witches of Halloween delight in discovering the latest figurines, table pieces, and more from our most 'boo-loved' brands. Then, we experiment with fresh decorating ideas so we can share the results with you. Fellow ‘haunted holiday’ enthusiast, we humbly present to you our suggestions to help create displays for your Halloween collectibles that last all year long, as well as the newest products you’ll want to add to your collection.
Three Secrets to Decorating with Collectibles All Year Long
Tell a story. Group figurines, table pieces, and accessories together to create scenes that entice the imagination, whatever the size of your collection. Specially dedicated shelves and side tables work best.
Put on a solo act. Draw attention to a single piece by displaying it with very few accessories or embellishments. While this tip works for collections of any size, it makes smaller collections really shine.
Brew up a brand showcase. Those with larger collections can use glass-fronted or Perspex display cases to house pieces by brand. Some collectors devote entire rooms to their impressive collections.
Spellbinding Products of 2021
All of these have possessed us with a frightful fervour for the spooky season!
Mark Roberts has created a wicked collection of wonderful witches for Halloween 2021. Available in both petite and statuesque versions, these witchy sisters wear beguiling ensembles featuring smart pencil-leg trousers underneath generous gowns finished off with a pair of bat's wings. —No angels here!
Rich Witch
Genteel and sophisticated beyond compare, rich witches conduct all their mystical affairs at the top end of town. Both wear a sparkling opalescent gown with a ruffled hem. A bejewelled, slender belt with a floral buckle helps create a chic silhouette. This most opulent of gowns features shoulder pads atop amply draping crimson hanging sleeves which in turn reveal feathered bell sleeves with cuffs. Above a subdued smile, glittering horn-rimmed spectacles frame kind eyes. Rich Witch has sensibly tucked her auburn coiffure under a climbing witch’s hat so that her tarantula familiar can roam freely without tangling itself in her curls.
Life of Luxury Witch
While Rich Witch is ‘old money’, Life of Luxury Witch proudly radiates ‘new money’. She has developed a tase for the finer things in life and isn’t ashamed to show off a little. Swathed in a gown of regal purples and mossy greens with a generous application of sequins, jewels, feathers, and wisps of chiffon, our debonair enchantress radiates glamour. She always treats others to a generous smile and never fears being left on her own since her rat familiar, Gorgonzola, never leaves her side. Whenever she encounters uncouth people, she simply lets out a cackle, tosser her gunmetal curls and keeps marching to the beat of her own drummer.
Magic Mushroom Witch
Unapologetically ‘out there’, Magic Mushroom Witch dabbles in dubious magic. She wears diaphanous black lace and bolts of orange ribbons over a patterned purple and black lamé dress with matching trousers. Multicoloured sequins shimmer from her belt as well as the cuffs at her wrists and ankles. Carrot-coloured curls tumble from beneath her shiny, cobalt hat, shaped like her favourite fungus. Cunningly disguised as a belt buckle, a bat familiar accompanies the 54.5cm figurine. Magic Mushroom Witch dwells on the ethereal plane with no plans to return to earth anytime soon. Once you see the world through her eyes, you’ll want to join her.
Bat Berry Pie Witch
No to be confused with a ‘domestic goddess’, Bat Berry Pie Witch bakes magical confections that you dare not sample. Her ‘fashion forward’ sense of style elevates Halloween couture by combining contrasting patterns and textures. Who would’ve thought that green lizard print trousers paired with a coppery spider’s web skirt would look so fetching? Rosemaling on her overcoat and bodice honours this witch’s Celtic roots. Ginger ringlets fall to a feathered collar from a chef’s hat in motley festooned with ribbons, jewels, and…tomatoes? Accompanied by her bat familiar, the 58cm figurine proudly displays a ‘bat berry pie’, whatever that is. —Hold on: the cheeky 34cm sibling has stolen a piece! Very naughty!
Like peanut butter with jam and sea salt with caramel, Halloween and Christmas go great together. Why not resurrect the spirit of Halloween by adding these ornaments to your Christmas tree? —Better yet, sow the seeds of a new tradition with a ‘Halloween tree’. Hang glittered glass ornaments by Old World Christmas along with other spooky season symbols from a bare branch. Our tip: choose a branch that looks like a skeletal hand reaching out from the Great Beyond…
There’s no Halloween without pumpkins! Whatever your taste, Katherine’s Collection has just the pumpkin to satisfy your appetite. But to find them, you’ll have to visit the Enchanted Pumpkin Patch on the outskirts of town. Lucky we know the way, because you won’t find it on any map...
The trick is to head in the one direction this Pumpkin Street Sign (64cm) doesn’t point. Trust in the magic of Halloween to guide you, and you’ll always find your way.
What a racket! This pumpkin patch is positively, well, pumping! Get a load of this ‘gruesome twosome’. These Haunted Pumpkins really take after their Halloween icons. Keep your distance: they don’t look friendly. In fact, that one with the teeth looks hungry…
Now this is more like it. Check out this adorable Pumpkin with Candy Bowl. Ready for his favourite night of the year, he’s tousled his straw hair in a trendy style and wears his best mossy collar and cuffs. Every bit of detail lavished upon this ‘pumpkin sprite’, from his kind eyes and smiling mouth to the delicate hands and childlike feet, reveals more of his character. You’ll adore and treasure this one for years to come. The lush colours, eye-catching patterns, and original thought behind this piece will make you treasure him for Halloweens beyond number.
Beware! By the pricking of our thumbs, our way leads to something wicked. Steer clear of these three sinister sisters if you value your life.
Wisteria Wildgrass sizes us up. Ever inscrutable, her cunning, along with her army of arachnids, makes her a formidable foe.
Don’t be fooled by Willowmena Wanderweed’s gap-toothed grin. She uses it to disarm unsuspecting visitors so she can ensnare them in her tentacle-like vines.
Nothing personal, but Wych Hazel Wormwood disapproves of everyone. She really ought to learn how to conceal her negativity. After all, the wrong person could take exception to her scowls, and she wouldn't want that. —Or would she?
At last! Just what we were looking for. Topped with golden curlicue stems, this set of three plush velvet pumpkins lend a festive, fun feel to Halloween. Each one’s harlequin motley pattern incorporates both warm and cool orange tones framed by pearly beadwork and braided ribbon. Let’s grab these, make like trees, and ‘leaf’. Who knows what else might lurk in this haunted pumpkin patch?!
Whether you dwell in this world or the next, Spooky Town is the Halloween holiday destination! Every year, Lemax concocts mesmerising new signature light-up pieces, bewitching table accents, charming figurines, and delightful accessories
Our favourite motorised light-up pieces come from the Lemax ‘Sights & Sounds’ collection. Each one tells a tale using flickering lights, moving parts aplenty, and soundtracks that are scary, spooky, and downright kooky.
Evil Spirits Whiskey Distillery
Brewed up in the mind of a devout Lemax fan, Evil Spirits Whiskey Distillery won the latest ‘You Name It. We Create It.’ holiday contest. Its creator describes it as ‘the Irish-born baby of (collector favourites) Grinning Goblin Brewery and Yulesteiner Brewery.’
Set to a sinister soundtrack, fiery colours and belching flames distinguish this piece from amongst the dreary otherworldly businesses of Spooky Town. A copper still dominates the roofline as spectres circle at the rear. Into the ever-present night sky, fire erupts from both the still and two blood-coloured brick chimneys. Light pulses ominously as poltergeists power the operation. Great barrel-shaped iron tanks on the left side of the building store the eerily glowing finished product whilst a crew of skeleton labourers toil at street level. One bloke’s enjoying a bevvie on smoko as his mate attempts to manage the revolving filling station all on his own. —Yikes! Over at the loading dock, the team go around in circles, rolling and carrying barrels full of whiskey and whatever cryptic ingredients make their way into the distillery’s devilish brews…
Web of Terror Ferris Wheel
Once on board, there’s no escape! The perfect trap to ensnare food for a growing brood. Spiders swarm across the wheel’s weblike frame and sit atop every basket, patiently stalking their prey. Colourful lights, mesmerising movement, and haunting carnival melodies threaten to beguile you, but keep your head, lest the spiders take it from you. A ride on the Web of Terror Ferris Wheel will transform you into an arachnophobe, providing you survive.
Halloween Party
These vampires know how to party! Forget the dancefloor, all the action is taking place in the dining room. Every ravenous monster, famished werewolf, and underfed zombie in Spooky Town had hoped to score an invitation to this banquet bash. A procession of ghoulish guests circles a heavily-laden table. As they gorge themselves on delectable fare, a peculiarly potent punch percolates in a grand and gory fountain. The revellers rage on to the sounds of spirits wreaking havoc throughout the crumbling castle. Menacing lightening flashes across the parapets and towers above whilst strategically-placed glowing jack-o’-lanterns lure unsuspecting trick-or-treaters below. Why, look! —A few unlucky boys and girls are walking up the path now. A jolly spectre soars through the decrepit guardhouse just as one of our undead hosts floats down to greet them. Calling over his shoulder, he announces: ‘Dessert has arrived!’
Table accents, accessories, and figurines flesh out the stories in the whimsically unique Spooky Town that you create. We can’t do without this outlandishly offbeat selection:
Girls Night Out on Halloween
Fashionably late, this trio of wily witches burn rubber in their dilapidated 1950s midnight black convertible all the way to the vampires' Halloween party. Their hapless familiars hang on for dear life as the driver makes like hell on wheels, zigzagging along the highway. Not a soul is safe with these banshees on the road!
Witch Gazebo
With all the witches gone, these familiars enjoy the rare treat of a night off. Though their witches compelled them to guard a set of precious brooms, nobody said anything about staying home. They've invited all witch-helpers, including the neighbourhood jack-o'-lanterns, to their own party at the gazebo in the park. The ‘purr-fect’ place to house any celebration for witches, warlocks, and their friends, broomstick columns support a witch hat roof with pumpkin lanterns strung along its brim. An absent-minded witch has left a cauldron bubbling away inside. If they know what’s good for them, the familiars will stay well away from the noxious elixir fermenting within…
‘Meow!’ Because their witches never let them dress up for Halloween, this feline fivesome wore their favourite costumes and went trick-or-treating on the way to the gazebo gathering. Witch Cat looks poised to cast a spell or deliver a mighty scratch. Bat Cat stares balefully. Pumpkin Cat thinks his costume is a little tight. Jester Cat keeps telling jokes that bomb. Lion Cat decides to stretch while he waits on everyone else to get themselves sorted so they can all skedaddle.
Mischievous Magic Managed
Keeping a few of your most-loved collectibles on display allows you to appreciate their quirkiness and whimsy whenever you like. Best of all, you’ll be able to summon the magic of Halloween all year long.
BOO!

]]>—Can you handle it? Only the very brave dare to remain in Spooky Town after sundown…
Surprise! You’ve won a tour of Spooky Town in a raffle you don’t even remember entering. Your deluxe tour includes transfers, a town square shopping experience, and a visit to the annual Foundation Day Frightening Fete. As a special treat, you’ll also be guests of honour at the celebration’s closing banquet.
Thrilled at your chance to mark Spooky Town off your bucket list, you meet your tour group at a lonely crossroads a few hours before sundown. A cowled figure with a scythe materialises from out of nowhere, startling everyone. He passes around cards identifying himself as Reap, the Deadly Grim Reaper, your tour guide.
You anxiously await further instructions, but Reap only points a long, bony finger down the road leading towards Spooky Town. You hear a distant thundering and see an old jalopy covered in bones racing up the road. Showering the group with dirt, it comes to a screeching halt so close you’re nearly smooching the skull hood ornament.
Ossuary’s Hearse, at your service! Reap turns and points toward the back doors. Everyone bundles in, squeezing in amongst the coffins.
After a few donuts, the hearse speeds off. Holding on for dear life and chuckling nervously, you dearly wish for a seatbelt and stack-hat. After a few hair-raising turns, you hear the bowel-rumbling, teeth-rattling sound of hogs with tonnes of horsepower. You peer out of the left-hand side window. Wowsers! The annual Monster Motor Rally is pumping!
You arrive just in time for the Best Chopper Contest. The contestants race around the track, hoping to impress the audience. After several minutes of dizzying laps, the judge awards the Frankenstein monsters the trophy for the fifth year in a row.
While the fans cheer, the losing contestants don’t look too happy. Growling menacingly, they advance on the Frankenstein monsters. Reap quickly herds the group back into the hearse just as the punches start to fly. Turns out, the ‘best chopper’ might not refer to the person with the best motorbike!
Next stop: sightseeing and shopping in Spooky Town Square!
The driver parks the hearse on the lawn in the middle of the square, knocking over a poorly-placed birdhouse. Grateful to be alive, everyone scrambles out into the delightful decay of Spooky Town.
Staggering around aimlessly, a lone citizen attempts to tidy up a bit of the scattered mess. Wheelbarrow overflowing and bag full to bursting, he really could use a little help keeping the ravenous rats and cantankerous crows away.
CLANG! CLANG!
Death’s Door Cemetery Gates Iron Works hammers on 365 days of the year. Famous for their fine wrought iron gates and fencing, you’re keen to check out the most successful business in Spooky Town. However, you beat a retreat when the smithy growls and throws one of his hammers at your head. Death’s Door could learn a thing or two about how to serve living customers!
On the other side of the square, you see flames billowing up from a chimney and decide to check it out. Looks like the Terribly Twisted Taffy Works is creating a new creepy confection. The witch working at the front beckons you come closer. ‘Hello traveller!’ she cackles. ‘Please, try my scrumptious taffy. It’s made with organic cane sugar, real ectoplasm, and Fairtrade essence of toadstool. One taste and your tastebuds will SCREAM!’
You pop a slimy sweet in your mouth and immediately wish you hadn't. Desperate for escape, you indicate that you'd like to buy a packet. When the witch fetches your change, you discreetly spit out the loathsome lolly.
Preferring to avoid another stomach-churning spin in the hearse, the group votes to continue to the fete on foot. On the way, you stop to marvel at The Little Ghouls Flying School. Just look at those littlies circling on high! These kids were born to fly. You join the parents in cheering on the little tackers until Reap screeches and points insistently down the road. Better get a move on or you’ll miss the fete!
Crowds have converged on the cemetery for this special 20th anniversary edition of the Foundation Day Frightening Fete. As you carefully wend your way amongst the tombstones and townsfolk, the smell of sizzling meats cooked on barbecues makes your mouth water. But underneath it all you also detect the odd waft of Spooky Town’s distinctive sickly-sweet aroma.
Reap marches the group to the middle of the cemetery. In front of a gazebo constructed entirely out of bones and fronted by wolfish jack o’lanterns, he holds up two fingers before groaning and gliding away amongst the tombstones.
Relishing the chance to people-watch and a little fearful diving into the festivities alone, your group decides to start your two-hour exploration by ambling over to the pet show on the eastern side of the cemetery. As you stroll, you admire an elegant spectral couple promenading serenely, dodge some swinging skeletons, nearly trip over a pair of zombies clawing their way to the surface, and make a point of steering clear of a wraith locked in its coffin.
The Halloween Pet Costume Contest is underway by the time you arrive, and – surprise – Reap’s one of the judges. After a tense deliberation, Reap and his witchy colleague give the award for Best Twins to the Mummy and his pooch. Lucky he made it to the festivities after all!
The curtain of night has fallen by the time the group arrives back at the gazebo. You see Reap chatting with a mate and get his attention. It’s getting late. Shouldn’t he be taking you to the banquet?
Reap looks at you, cocks his head, and points over your shoulder. You turn and see the townsfolk lurch, stagger, and claw their way through the tombstones towards you. Banquet time, at last! Everyone sure looks hungry. You wonder what’s on the menu and hope they serve options to cater for a wide-range of dietary requirements…
